Since 1992, the beautiful half-timbered Alsatian House that we occupy has been classified as a historical monument of the city of Strasbourg. Built in 1562, this bourgeois residence not only offers an exceptionally well-preserved facade with typical ornaments with its magnificent half-timbered frames and its windows grouped with small column frames resting on scrolled consoles; but it is also a building rich in a particular soul with walls steeped in history.

Indeed, from 1640, at the time of the Strasbourg Renaissance, number 8 of the Place du Marché aux Pigs de Suckling housed the industry of Mr. Laurent Gunther, an oil manufacturer. For more than 250 years, his descendants continued to occupy the premises and make the family business prosper ...
